Data Collected
We collect different categories of data to provide you with the best possible service:
Account Information
- Username and email address
- Password (stored encrypted)
- Date of birth (to verify you are over 18)
- Account type (dancer, teacher, organizer)
Profile Information
- Profile photos you choose to share
- Biography and personal description
- Location (city, optional GPS coordinates)
- Dance preferences (styles, level, role)
Usage Data
- Login history and platform interactions
- Messages exchanged with other users
- Events created or participated in
Use of Data
Your personal data is used to:
- Create and manage your user account
- Connect you with other dance enthusiasts
- Personalize your experience (partner search, nearby events)
- Send you important notifications about your account and platform activity
- Improve our services and develop new features
Data Sharing
Your personal data is never sold to third parties. Some information from your profile (username, photos, location, dance preferences) is visible to other platform users as part of the connection service.
We never share your email address, phone number, or private messages with other users without your explicit consent.
We may share data with third parties only in the following cases:
- Technical providers necessary for platform operation (hosting, email sending)

Providers and transfers outside the EU

Data Security
We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your data:
- Password encryption with secure algorithms
- Secure connections via HTTPS

Your Rights
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
- Right of rectification: correct your data if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to portability: receive your data in a structured and commonly used format.
- Right to object: object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes.
To exercise these rights, email us at contact@bailatica.com. We reply within one month. You can also edit most of your data from your profile, and unsubscribe from offer emails in one click from each of them.
Delete your account: in the app, Profile > Delete my account; on the website, Profile > General information > Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. A subscription bought in the app is cancelled separately, in App Store or Google Play settings.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL: cnil.fr
Data Retention
- Account and profile: as long as the account exists; erased immediately when deleted.
- Database backups: 14 rolling days, encrypted.
- Subscriptions: deleted with the account. Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep their own billing history under their policies.
- Internal statistics (daily activity, deletions): no email or username, technical identifiers only.
- Audience measurement (Google Analytics, Firebase): 14 months; measurement cookies: 13 months at most.
- City alerts without an account: until you unsubscribe (link in every email). An unconfirmed sign-up receives no email.
Messages exchanged with other users may be retained by those users even after your account is deleted.
Protection of Minors
Bailatica is reserved for persons 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we discover that a minor has registered, their account will be deleted.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. In case of significant changes, we will notify you by email or via a notification on the platform. We encourage you to check this page regularly.
